Zwei Männer, Brüder – der eine im Westen, der andere im Osten. An beiden Orten ist das Leben stumm, einsam, ausdruckslos. Hier werden Fenster gestrichen, Schalter verkabelt und Zigaretten geraucht; dort Bahnen geschwommen, Boxkämpfe vorbereitet, Geschäfte abgewickelt. Was verbindet all die Dinge?

Two men, brothers – one in the West, one in the East. In both places, life is muted, solitary, nondescript. Here, windows are painted, switches rewired and cigarettes smoked; there, lengths swum, boxing matches prepared for, transactions made. What is it that links these things?

Dane Komljen, Jg. 1986, studierte Regie an der Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrad und besucht nun in Frankreich das Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains. Danes bisherige Kurzfilme waren u.a. in Cannes und Rotterdam zu sehen. Višak Vjetra lief im Wettbewerb des Festival del Film Locarno und Sarajevo Film Festival. Er arbeitet gerade an seinem Debütfilm.

Dane Komljen, born 1986, studied directing at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade and currently attends the Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains in France. Dane’s previous short films have been shown in Cannes and Rotterdam, among others. VIŠAK VJETRA was shown at the Festival del film Locarno and the Sarajevo Film Festival.
