But she has a dream: Like many young Polish people, Ela, too, wants to escape the tristesse of the council housing estate and move West, into a better life.

Oliver Adam Kusio (b. 1988) studied Art History and Philosophy in Frankfurt & Berlin and is currently studying film directing at Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. Ela premiered at La Semaine de la Critique in Cannes 2017.
